If there’s one thing we want you to know, it’s this: ROOTS Dance Academy is not a one-size-fits-all program.

We are serious about ROOTS being a place for both the beginner and the serious student who is on a specific track to prepare for the next level. We seek to provide a place for dancers of all ages and levels – from the preschooler to the competitive dancer – to thrive.

As you’ll see, this new schedule takes both into account in new and even better ways…

Toddler & Preschool

These classes are designed to introduce our little movers and groovers to the world of dance. Dancers will learn to follow instructions in a group setting while learning fundamental dance techniques. Dancers must be the proper age as of August 15, 2020.

• Toddler: Ages 2.5-3 • More Info

If you are hesitant about registering before you’ve tried the class, we have a few Sample classes on the calendar for new families.

K-12th Level I Classes

These classes are open to any dancer and do not require prior experience. These are great for beginners and intermediate dancers looking to fine-tune their skillset. New this year, students must be the proper age as of January 1, 2021. Open classes are offered in the following age categories:

• Peewee: Ages 5-6 • More Info (must be in Kindergarten) 
• Mini: Ages 7-8 • More Info 
• Junior: Ages 9-11 • More Info
• Teen/Senior: Ages 12+ • More Info

K-12th Level II, III and IV Classes

(Placement Required)

Level classes require multiple years of prior dance experience and placement by a ROOTS staff member. If you are new to ROOTS and have not yet received a recommendation form, we recommend signing up for an evaluation with our Director, Saskia Harmon. You can do that by clicking here.

If you are a returning student or have already received a Recommendation Form from the office, you can register for placement classes by filling out our Level Class Request Form.

New this year, students must be the proper age as of January 1, 2021. Level classes are offered in the following age categories:

• Junior: Ages 9-11 • More Info
• Teen/Senior: Ages 12+ • More Info
