What Our Parents Say…

Our dancer wanted to grow and longed to be immensely challenged! We found that with this studio, and found mentors who saw her for who she was, loved and nurtured her talent, and cultivated her technique and helped her strengthen her skills in a safe environment. Do you know what else we found? We found a family too!

AMY JO ARNOLD

All three of my kids ranging in age from 7-15 have participated in music lessons and dance classes. Not only has the programming been excellent, but the staff at ROOTS are the friendliest people we’ve ever worked with! There really is a joy in the building every time you walk through the door.

MELANIE RITZ

At ROOTS, there is just as much emphasis on growing caring, responsible kids with integrity as there is on growing amazing students. ROOTS has it all…great leadership, mentors, office staff and students! We have been to several other studios and nowhere compares to ROOTS!

We believe that if the students trust the environment and mentor, they will thrive and grow faster. You can meet our Music Mentors here!

Why are recital tickets limited to only 4?2019-06-09T21:44:20-05:00

2018-2019 Season: Our venue is secured 9 months before the recital. Unfortunately, we did not anticipate the growth in our program and it was too late to make a venue change. Due to the number of students performing in the recital and the limited capacity of our venue (600 seats), we are only able to allocate 4 tickets to ensure that every student’s family members have the ability to be able to attend the recital. We are already looking for larger venues for the 2020 recital and beyond, to alleviate this restriction.

How often are Music Showcases?2019-06-10T14:36:40-05:00

Music Showcases are put on bi-annually in May and December.

Where can I buy recital tickets?2019-05-19T16:27:57-05:00

Tickets for the recital are sold through our partner, TuTuTix. Click here to purchase your tickets now. If tickets are sold out, please visit the ROOTS Exchange group on Facebook and post your needs there.

How do I know which class is right for me?2019-06-07T14:01:17-05:00

The first step to determining the appropriate class for your dancer is to find the appropriate age division, Toddler (ages 2.5. – 3), Preschool I (ages 3-4), Preschool II (ages 4-5), Mini (ages 6-8), Junior (ages 9-11), Teen (ages 12-14), and Senior (ages 15-18). Age is determined by the student’s age as of August 15th. Open classes require no dance experience. Placement classes are more advanced for dancers with previous experience. For placement classes, the ROOTS dance staff would love to set up a quick placement meeting with your dancer. To schedule please contact dance@rootsacademy.net.

What if my dancer has more than one routine in the recital?2019-05-19T16:21:47-05:00

If you have more than one routine in Recital, you will have a Costume Fee per routine. Families with more than one Costume Fee will use the Fee Schedule below. The most expensive Costume Fee will be charged first.

PLEASE NOTE: Families with 4 or more Costume Fees will split their Costume Fee Total into 3 equal amounts to be paid on Oct 1, Nov 1 and Dec 1.

  • October 1st – Recital Costume Fee #1
  • November 1st – Recital Costume Fee #2
  • December 1st – Recital Costume Fee #3
Are there any dance class options for adults?2019-06-13T12:12:36-05:00

At this time, we do not offer any ROOTS adult dance classes. However, we host Area54 HipHop classes on Tuesdays (Beginner Hip Hop) and Wednesdays (Advanced Hip Hop) at 7:30pm. Check them out here

Our friends at b.fab.fitness also offer some amazing adult fitness classes at the studio! Check them out here.

When is the dance recital?2019-06-07T14:02:19-05:00

The recital is at the end of the second semester of dance, typically in June. The exact dates will be announced in our monthly FOOTNOTES, ROOTS Connect pages, and on our main Recital Page. When dates are announced, we suggest reserving those dates to ensure that you are available. Rehearsal times and more details will be communicated in the Spring semester.

What if the class I want to enroll in is full and waitlisted?2019-06-07T14:08:09-05:00

If the class you would like to enroll in is full, please register for the waitlist. This will put you in line to be notified if space becomes available in the class. When a spot in the class becomes available we will contact you and confirm that you are still interested. You will not be charged tuition until a spot for your dancer is guaranteed.

How much are recital tickets?2019-06-09T21:39:52-05:00

2018-2019 Season: Every dancer is given two complimentary tickets per show that they are performing in. Each family is able to purchase up to two additional tickets for $11 each (+tax). Once pre-sales are over, we will release the remaining tickets to the general public in which you can purchase as many you want at the same $11 price until they are sold out.

Are costume and performance fees refundable?2019-06-07T14:02:53-05:00

Unfortunately, fees that have been paid have already been budgeted into the planning and production of the recital. As a result, we are unable to refund costume and participation fees. No exceptions.

How does the recital ticket pre-sale work?2019-05-19T16:29:31-05:00

On Monday, April 22, 2019, you will receive a unique code per family that allows you to purchase up to 4 tickets per show that your dancer is performing in. Included in those 4 tickets are 2 complimentary* tickets per dancer. If your dancer is in more than one show, the 2 complimentary tickets can be used for the show of your choice.

*A $1 processing fee will be charged per ticket

Example: The Brooks family has 1 dancer in recital: Susie. Susie is performing in the Saturday 2pm show. Mrs. Brooks can add 4 total tickets to her cart for the Saturday 2pm show. Of those 4 tickets, 2 will be complimentary (processing fees may apply). If Mrs. Brooks needs more tickets after her 4 tickets are purchased, she will need to wait until noon on May 6 to see if any more are available to purchase.

During this presale period, each family is limited to 4 tickets per show to ensure that every family gets tickets to recital.

Do I have to participate in the dance recital?2019-05-12T04:07:20-05:00

All dancers are encouraged to participate, but recital participation is not required. All recital fees will be communicated and posted in the month of October. Because of this, Families will need to opt out of Recital before October 1. Dancers that choose not to participate will still be able to participate fully in their class and will still learn the recital dance. Any dancer that joins after this time will still be allowed to participate in recital, pending costume availability and may be subject to added fees.

How much does recital cost?2019-05-19T16:22:18-05:00

Recital participation requires one costume fee per routine (ranging from $80-$90 + tax) and one Performance Fee ($100) per participant. For your convenience, these fees are split up throughout the year. The recital will also require the purchase of tickets.

Are you looking for a new recital venue so more people can attend?2019-05-19T16:34:08-05:00

Absolutely! 2019 will be the last year we perform at our current venue. We will announce the official venue in the Fall, which will have the capacity to offer more tickets.

Where do I purchase my dance clothes and shoes?2019-06-07T14:01:51-05:00

We recommend purchasing all dance attire at Bellissimo, a dance boutique right here in Franklin. The address is 100-B Mission Court, Franklin, TN 37067.

How do I claim the 30-day money back guarantee?2019-06-07T13:59:50-05:00

The money-back guarantee is based on the following requirements:

  • The student is required to attend four consecutive weeks of lessons/classes
  • Parent/student must notify the front office regarding their dissatisfaction by the third week, giving us an opportunity to improve your learning experience.
  • Refunds will be paid by check and delivered within 10-14 business days.
If I miss a dance class, can I make it up?2019-06-09T21:55:44-05:00

Sure! During the months of September through January a make-up class may be scheduled for a missed Toddler, Preschool, or Mini level class up to one month after the missed class. Students are welcome to make up their class during another class time at their same level or below. Simply email us at dance@rootsacademy.com to let us know that you will be out for your class to schedule a make-up class. After January, make-up classes are not offered due to recital preparation.
