Summer Camps

Learn Next-Level Skills, Make New Friends, & Have a TON of Fun at ROOTS Academy this Summer

Summer Intensive

The ROOTS Dance Intensive is for an advanced level dancer with 2-3 years of experience who is looking to accelerate their skills and experience in a focused and fun setting. Many dancers who attend our week-long intensive are planning to audition for our Competition and Performance Company teams. These groups feature our most advanced dancers of each age group and represent ROOTS in public performances and competitions.

If you have been considering ROOTS Dance Company, this intensive is the perfect opportunity to see if you’re ready. Students who are interested in Company will be evaluated during the week by the Dance Director, Saskia Harmon, and the dance mentor team.

Dates: July 9-12, 2019

What Our Parents Say…

“Our daughter always looks forward to this full week of caring, professional instructors instilling proper technique, skills, and encouragement into her. She’s not only challenged and inspired by the classes but also makes great friends along the way. And always comes home exhausted, but excited to show us everything she learned. As parents, we love that she is getting taught the proper technique to ensure future growth in something she is so passionate about.”

“My daughter Avery enrolled in Princess Dance Camp this past summer. I was amazed by how much the Princesses learned in just one week. Above that, I loved the messages instilled in each of them that inner beauty is more important than material things and that doing things in God’s favor was of the highest importance. The absolute best thing was to see how much fun the girls had and the friendships formed!”

“I had a lot of fun learning new techniques and something different every day! I made a lot of friends at camp that I see every week in dance classes now, which makes me look forward to coming even more!”

Depending on age, we recommend Camp Dance for beginner and intermediate students who are eager to advance their technique in a non-competitive and encouraging environment. We would recommend our Disney Classics Camp (1st – 5th graders). This camp is geared toward our younger students and is a great way for kids to learn some basics in music while having fun and making friends.

Will my student need to bring a lunch, snack, or drink to camp with them?2019-07-03T11:45:53-05:00

Some camps will run through lunchtime and will require students to bring a packed lunch. Make sure you read through your camp’s description to see if lunch will be needed. ROOTS will provide snacks for camps.

We have water dispensers stationed around the studio, and we encourage students to bring refillable water bottles.

Shoes: Tennis shoes are required for hip hop. Ballet shoes (canvas or leather depending on age) are required for ballet. For jazz and lyrical, we recommend pirouettes or jazz shoes. For contemporary, dance socks are permitted.

Hair: Hair should be pulled up and out of the face to avoid distraction.
